Get fit and give back by taking part in a local fundraising event in 2024

January 22, 2024

A new year brings with it the chance to set yourself new goals and challenges. If you’re looking for a challenge to set yourself in 2024, taking part in a fundraising event may be just the adventure you’re looking for.

There’s a host of opportunities across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire for all abilities from the Kiltwalk to Ride the North. Not only are they a great way to get active, but charity events such as these are a fun way to support local charitable organisations and causes. If you’re challenging yourself to take part in a fundraising event this year, we’d be hugely grateful if you’d consider supporting Camphill School Aberdeen.

This is a big year for us as we build a new 11-bedroom residential home and open our new social enterprise Murtle Market, but we still have £800,000 to raise to reach our phase one construction target. By choosing to take part on behalf of Camphill School Aberdeen, you will be helping to raise vital funds for our Building Futures, Transforming Lives campaign. We’re currently aiming to increase our capacity by 60%, helping other children and young people with learning disabilities and complex additional support needs to benefit from our sector-leading support. The UK is currently facing a crisis and care, so now more than ever your donations will make a huge difference.

To help get you inspired, we’ve compiled a list of some of the big fundraising events taking place throughout the year.

Run Balmoral: April 27th & 28th, a 5k or 10k run around the scenic Balmoral Estate.

Run Garioch: May 12th, a run of various distances in Inverurie.

Kiltwalk: June 2nd, an 18-mile walk.

Chapelton of Elsick: July 14th 2024 10K run.

This is a family-friendly event,  in addition to the main 10k race there will also be a children’s 100-metre toddler dash and a 1k fun run for over 5’s / P1 and above.

Ride the North: August 24th, a cycling challenge in the North-East.

Beast Race: September 21st, a 10k obstacle course race for adventurers.

You are also welcome to create your own challenge to help support Camphill School Aberdeen - no matter how big or small! To let us know your plans so that we can support you please contact fundraising@crss.org.uk.
