With your support, we can help even more young people with additional support needs meet their full potential.
Demand for our services has reached unprecedented levels. More children and young people need our support than ever before.
Our Building Futures, Transforming Lives campaign aims to raise £10 million in 10 years. It will allow us to increase our capacity by 60% by building new residential homes and other facilities while ensuring existing buildings are sector-leading.
We depend on the generosity of businesses, individuals, and trusts and foundations to make our vision a reality.
Take a look at our video to find out more about what we do and why our work is so important!
We need to raise £10 million over the next decade to allow us to open our doors to more vulnerable children and young people across the region. Our Building Futures, Transforming Lives capital appeal campaign aims to:
Build three new residential homes
Develop Murtle Market, a
sustainable social enterprise
Create a new outdoor
sensory playground
Expand our land and craft workshops
Construct an awards and qualifications centre
Residential home
Social enterprise
Inclusive playpark
An 11-bedroomed residential home, with an independent living wing, is nearing completion on our Murtle Estate. The house will create capacity for seven new residents to be welcomed to the estate as well as four members of staff or gap year volunteers. Our young people worked with award winning Collective Architecture to design a home that is fully accessible and goes beyond net zero.
Key features
Focused on sharing day-to-day life - key to our successful model
Homely and modern accommodation
Separate independent living wing - flexible accommodation for highly vulnerable young people who can't fully participate in home life or as a training flat for independent living
Developing skills for adulthood
Net Zero – incorporating green technologies and designed to Passivhaus standards while utilising recycled building materials.
Murtle Market is our new publicly facing social enterprise the offers a sustainable shop, refillery, café, and heritage hub.
It creates meaningful training, work experience and skills development for young people with learning disabilities and complex additional support needs. The market is also an opportunity to celebrate our impressive 80-year history and showcase the range of sustainable crafts made by the young people who we support.
We’re planning to bring the first free outdoor sensory playground to Aberdeen!
Children in Aberdeen with sensory disorders have no dedicated, free, outdoor adventure playgrounds where they can experience the simple joy of play.
A recent survey of Camphill School Aberdeen parents found that 78% feel unable to access public parks due to judgement, sensory concerns, and challenging behaviours. No child or parent should have to feel this way in an environment that is meant to bring happiness.
The playground at Camphill School estate near Miltimber has been co-designed by the young people and endorsed by the National Autistic Society.
It will be split into three ‘zones’
Help us guarantee that every child can enjoy their right to play.
